Over the past year, everyone online and offline has been talking about Chat GPT, an artificial intelligence tool that is meant to herald a major digital revolution and can also be very useful for a crowdfunding campaign.
Preparing and running a successful crowdfunding campaign, in fact, requires the production of a lot of content and the analysis of a lot of data, all of which Chat GPT can help us do or do for us (with proper care).
To familiarize yourself with this tool that may initially generate some distrust, let's start at the beginning.
What is Chat GPT?
GPT stands for Generative Pretrained Transformer: this means that Chat GPT is a chatbot, which is an artificial intelligence software programmed with a learning and data acquisition algorithm to establish conversations with humans in their own language and generate texts.
At first glance, this might not seem like much news: the Web is full of business portals with automated, smiling figures of various kinds offering to interact with users to provide support. However, there is a huge difference between the chats that can be initiated with these bots and the conversations that can be established with Chat GPT: a difference that can be summarized as "complexity" and "humanity."
Whereas traditional bots are able to respond to a limited number of requests and understand mostly standard phrases, generating short and equally standard responses, Chat GPT has studied human communication and language in all their patterns and nuances and draws on a boundless and up-to-date database of information from which it continues to learn constantly (in the premium version).
As a result, it is able to "talk" in much the same way as a human being would and generate complete and articulate answers to even complex questions. Not only that, Chat GPT also learns from the same interactions with users, gradually enriching its conversational experience.
The result is an artificial intelligence capable not simply of giving answers, but of producing content of various kinds on demand from the data at its disposal.
The software was developed by Open AI, a nonprofit artificial intelligence research organization founded by, among others, Sam Altman and Elon Musk in 2015. Chat GPT is the third version of prototype chatbot for human-computer interaction developed by Open AI, but the first to be made public and free worldwide. There is also already a paid version with more features.

Chat GPT for crowdfunding
Once we clarify what Chat GPT is and what it does, some of its applications are obvious, others much less so. In fact, the potential of this tool is far more advanced than is generally imagined at first glance.
To start a crowdfunding campaign and bring it to fruition, you need to set up a consistent and quality communication strategy with your target audience of potential investors, with whom to interact and monitor interactions to modulate activities. All this requires multiple people dealing with it on different fronts and a lot of time.
Learning how to use Chat GPT can save time and resources. To access the software, simply register on the site set up by OpenAI.
Artificial intelligence, with the right inputs, can produce a whole range of key content for us:
- blog articles to improve a site's search engine rankings, strengthen its online presence, and provide useful content to target audiences;
- newsletter, to stay in touch with the user database;
- copy for advertising, to create effective sponsored posts and maximize results in relation to spending, and landing pages;
- social media posts;;
- informative content about the company's proposed product or service, to build communication precisely on the characteristics of the target audience, to be identified and delivered to the software;
- translations, to communicate in an international context;
- tracks for podcasts or videos;
- market analysis, to quickly cross-reference data on the context of the company and its product/service, audience needs, competitors, prices, prospects, and study strategy accordingly;
- business plan, to present the company, product/service and medium-term projects to the chosen crowdfunding platform and potential investors.
Some of these tasks are simpler and require basic inputs, e.g., a topic for writing an article, a product presentation for writing advertising content, etc. More complex content such as market analysis and business plan requires spending a little more time to provide Chat GPT with all the data needed to generate an error-free document. The end result always depends largely on the initial ingredients provided.
In any case, even for the simplest texts, one should never passively use any content produced by Chat GPT, which may always be subject to a margin of error, be unaware of some information, or otherwise not fully reflect the company's communication style and tone and lack a personalized slant.
What Chat GPT can provide, however, is a very advanced draft to work on with review, checking and approval operations, eliminating a substantial part of the time and effort required.
Another possible use of AI software is for customer support, which is the most similar use to traditional chatbots: one can connect Chat GPT to one's social channels or to a chat on the company website to provide initial support to customers according to predetermined instructions. It applies mostly to a superficial and generic level of support, which may need to be followed up by human intervention for more specific requests.
Not only Chat GPT
The explosion of Chat GPT can be an opportunity to discover and experiment with other digital and artificial intelligence tools that are very useful for streamlining different types of work and saving time and money in business marketing processes, including (but not limited to) in the context of a crowdfunding campaign.
One writing tool that has been known for a long time is Jasper, formerly called Jarvis, which specializes particularly in SEO-oriented text production and is available in a limited free version or a full version for a fee.
Still in the writing field, Rytr offers support for writing or just improving texts of various kinds, from articles to text messages to emails, but also for developing a business plan or simply a business idea and identifying keywords related to a topic. It offers a free demo alongside paid premium versions.
In the video field, Synthesia allows for rapid transposition of text content into video content, and is a paid service.
GoCharlie is a more generalist software that produces both text and images and, among other things, can transpose videos into blog articles or social media content. It, too, is available exclusively for a fee.
Then there is simpler software such as Namelix, which helps come up with ideas for a new brand name, or Cleanup.Pictures, for editing images without having to learn Photoshop.
This is just a selection of an endless variety of software that can automate or support the day-to-day business processes and/or tasks required to build a successful crowdfunding campaign. Digital is a great ally for businesses, especially those that are younger and under-resourced, but you need to be open-minded and learn to master the tools.
